SCENE III. [A Persian Court or Palace Darius seated on his throne. The officers of justice in attendance, and guarding Doctors Drop, Julap, and Pestle, whom Darius, having ordered to be executed, are about to be beheaded — when Democedes enters, and intercedes in behalf of the Victims, who, for having unskilfully administered to the King, had forfeited their lives.] Dar.
