prakaraṇena durbalena liṅgabādhāyogānna tatra prakaraṇa eva gauṇārthe viniyogaḥ; apitu yatra pūṣā devatā cāturmāsye tatraivotkarṣaḥ; upāṃśuyājīyayājyānāṃ viṣṇvādidevatāyāḥ prakaraṇe abhāve utkarṣāpattiṃ vārayituṃ --- virodhītyuktam /
tatrāgneyādiyāge niveśāsaṃbhave 'pyaśrutadevatopāṃśuyāje devatāvidhikalpanena niveśopapatteḥ /

ataeva vasantādyanumantraṇamantravadupāṃśuyāje pūṣadevatāvidhikalpanānupapatterāgneyādiṣu guṇāntarasattvādutkarṣa evetyarthaḥ /
atraca vastusāmarthyarūpasya liṅgasya sāmānyasaṃbandhabodhakapramāṇanirapekṣasyaiva viniyojakatvam /

yadyapyasya vākyasya āgneyīpadasamabhivyāhṛtaivakāreṇa vāyavye paśau codakaprāptāgneyamantrasya sthāne āgneyamantraprasaktirūpohaniṣedhakatvopapattyā notkarṣaniṣedhakatvamityabhipretyaiva "manotāyāṃ tu vacanādavikāra" iti dāśamikādhikaraṇapravṛttiḥ; tathāpyasya vākyasyotkarṣaniṣedhakatvena prākaraṇikaphalārthatvasaṃbhave 'prākaraṇikaphalārthatvakalpanāyogādutkarṣaniṣedhakatvameva yuktam /
dāśamikādhikaraṇaṃ jyotiṣṭome āgneyaḥ paśurneti kṛtvācintayā draṣṭavyam /

astu vā rūḍhatvādagnereva dhātuvācyasamīpasthitiṃ prati karmatvam, natu mantrasādhyābhidhānaṃ prati; tasyāśābdatvāt /

ataḥ kathaṃ mantrasya gauṇer'the viniyoga iti cenna; aindyeti taddhitenaikapade viśeṣyatayā pratipādyamānasya mantrasya cayanānupayogīndrāṅgatvabodhakatvānupapatteḥ /
atastasya śakyabodhakālīnendraprakāśakatvānuvādatvenāpyupapatterna dvitīyādau tadbalena lakṣaṇāśrayaṇaṃ rūḍhityāgo vā /

dvitīyāśrutyā gārhapatyārthatvāvagamena na mukhyārthaviniyogasaṃbhavaḥ; yogyatājñānābhāve 'pi pratibandhakībhūtāyogyatāniścayābhāvamātreṇa śabdabodhasya saṃbhavena śrautaviniyogopapattestasyaiva balavatastātparyagrāhakasya sattvena mantragataindraśabde yajñasādhanatvasādṛśyādidhātvarthāyogādvā jaghanyavṛttyāśrayaṇe bādhakābhāvāt /
nahi dvitīyāśrutyā gārhapatyāṅgatvabodhasyeva taddhitaśrutyā mantrasyendrāṅgatvabodhaḥ saṃbhavati /

atastaddhitaśrutyā dvitīyāśrutibādhāyogādgārhapatyābhidhānārthatvameva yuktamityabhipretya dūṣayati -------- neti //

nanu avaghātasyācetanasya haviṣkṛttvānupapatteḥ sutarāñceti śabdārthānvayānupapatteravaghāte mantrasyāsāmarthyātkathaṃ viniyoga ityata āha ------- gauṇa evāyamiti //

acetane svātantryalakṣaṇakartṛtvāsaṃbhave 'pi sthālīpacatītivadvaivakṣikeṇa svātantryeṇa kartṛtvopapattyā haviṣkṛttvasaṃbhavāttatraiva cetanatvamāropya avaghāta tvamehi saṃpanno bhavetyarthena haviṣkṛtsthālīsaṃbandhihaviḥsaṃpattihetulakṣaṇayogena haviṣkṛdehītyanenāvaghātaprakāśanopapattiriti kaustubhe draṣṭavyamityarthaḥ /

vacanasya mukhyāhvānasaṃbandhenāpyupapatteḥ mukhyaviśeṣyabhūtāhvānabhāvanāsaṃbandhasyābhyarhitatvāt trirityasyāvaghāte 'nvayānupapattyā aśrutamantrapāṭhakriyāviṣayatvāpatteḥ dhātoḥ sādhutvapārārthyaviśiṣṭavidhigauravādyāpatteḥ vinā kāraṇamākhyātasyācaṣṭa ityarthalakṣaṇāpatternāvaghāte gauṇe viniyoga; kintu āhvāna evetyabhipretya siddhāntamāha ------- mukhya eveti //
āhvānasyāvihitatvānna tadaṅgatvena mantravidhiḥ saṃbhavatītyāśaṅkāmapākaroti ------- māntravarṇiketi //
yathā somapātramagṛhītvāpi somabhakṣaṇaprāpte "raśvinostvā bāhubhyāṃ sadhyāsa" miti mantravarṇaprakāśyatvānupapattyā grahaṇaniyamavidhiṃ prakalpya tatra mantraviniyogaḥ kalpyate, evamihāpi tatprakāśyatvānupapattyā āhvānaniyamavidhikalpanayā āhvānasya vidheyatvāvagamāttadaṅgatvena mantravidhānopapattirityarthaḥ /
etena ------ nityaprāptatve 'pi prathanādivadadhvaryukartṛkatvasiddhyarthamāhvānasyāpyatra vidhiriti nyāyasudhākāroktaṃ -------- apāstam; vidheyāntarasattve saṃbhavatprāptikāyāḥ kriyāyā vidhau gauravāt, mantrapāṭhasyādhvaryukartṛkatve pṛthakprayatnānāpādye āhvāne 'dhvaryukartṛkatvasyāpyarthataḥ prāpteśca /
prathanasyatu prakāśarūpamantravyāpārato 'tyantabhinnatvātkriyāntara- rūpatvenamantrasyādhvaryavasamākhyayādhvaryukartṛtvaniyame 'pi na tatkaraṇatvenādhvaryavaniyamaḥ sidhyati /
āhvānasyatu parāgamanānukūlasvābhiprāyaprakāśanarūpatvāt tasya ceha mantravyāpārarūpatvena mantroccārayitṛ- vyatiriktenānuṣṭhātumevāśakyatvānmantrasyādhvaryukartṛkatvenaiva āhvānasya tatkartṛkatvasiddhiriti vaiṣamyānna tatsidhdyarthamapi vidhirāvaśyaka ityarthaḥ //

patnyā bahupadārthānuṣṭhānena śrāntasyādhvaryoravasaradānena sahāyatvādanyapadārthakāle 'pi tatprāpnoti, tathāpi haviṣkṛttvena tadāhvānasya haviṣkaraṇārthatvapratītestasya cāvaghātamārabhya pravṛtteravaghātakāla eva prāptatvādanuvāda ityarthaḥ /

tataścāvaghātārthamāhvayatītyarthādāhvānakartṛtvasamānādhikaraṇāvaghātakartṛtvaṃ prayojakatvarūpamevāśrayituṃ yuktamityavaghātaphalāhvānasyāvaghātakāla eva prāptervinaiva lakṣaṇāmavaghātaṃ kārayannāhvayatītyarthe na kaściddoṣa iti bhāvaḥ //
yattu ---------- prakāśakārāṇāmanvārambhavidhānenāvaghāte 'dhvaryukartṛtvopapādanaṃ --------- tat, kasmiṃścidapi sūtre patnyānvārambhavidhyadarśanādayuktamityupekṣitaṃ pūjyapādaiḥ //
mama tu pratibhāti ---------- triravaghnanniti siddhānuvādenāvaghāte adhvaryoḥ kartṛtvābhyanujñānādavaghātaṃ kurvataivāhūtayā patnyā dvitīyāvaghātānuṣṭhānopapatterevakārasya sahāyamātraniṣedhakatvenobhayakartṛtvāvirodha eva kātyāyanasūtrasaṃvādī yuktaḥ /
tāvatāpi gauṇe 'vaghāte namantraviniyoga iti mīmāṃsakasiddhāntasyākṣatiḥ /
ataeva kātīyānāṃ pūrvamadhvaryukartṛkamavahananamaparaṃ cāhvānottaraṃ patnīkartṛkaṃ cetyanuṣṭhānaṃ dṛśyate /
evañca śatṛpratyayasya lakṣaṇatvārthādikalpanamapi nāśritaṃ bhavatīti /
āvituṣībhāvamavaghātānuṣṭhāne madhye sahāyārthamāhvānaṃ dṛṣṭārthamapi bhavatīti //

so 'pica kriyābhyāvṛttigaṇanārthakakṛtvasucpratyayāntatriśabdabalādāhvāna- kriyāyāmeva vidhīyate /
tatraca mantrasya vediprokṣaṇamantranyāyena sahakṛtpāṭhe prāpte 'pi prokṣaṇavadāhvānasya mantrapāṭhātiriktaprayatnānāpādyatvenārthānmantrasyaiva trirāvṛttiḥ phalati /
etena ------- yat nyāyasudhākṛtā vyavahitasaṃbandhamādāya mantrasyaiva trirāvṛttividhānamuktaṃ tat -------- apāstam; trirabhyāsasya śabdato vyavahitasyāpi sucpratyayaśrutyaiva kārakavibhaktiśrutyevāhvānakriyāsaṃbandhalābhādavyavahitenāpi mantreṇa saṃbandhānupapatteḥ /
ata āhvānasya dṛṣṭārthatvāllokavadeva dviḥ triścaturvāpi prāptau trirabhyāsāṃśe 'pi niyamavidhitvalābhāntrirabhyāsa āhvāne vidhīyata ityarthaḥ //

mantrasya kriyāprakāśanena tatsaṃbandhiprakāśanena vā karaṇatvāttadabhāve mantragatakaraṇatvānyathānupapattyā tadarthasyāṅgatvakalpanasyāvaśyakatvena prakṛte 'pi śrutyavagatāṅgatānirvāhāya māntravarṇikadevatākalpanayā dravyadevatāsabandhātpraharatau devatoddeśapūrvakadravyatyāgāṃśasyāpyajahatsvārthalakṣaṇā phalamukhatvānna virudhyata ityarthaḥ /
tyāgāṃśaṃ prati dravyasya karaṇatvāt prastaramiti dvitīyānupapattiṃ parihartuṃ āśrayikarmarūpetyuktam /
yathaiva sviṣṭakṛdyāgasya prakṣepāṃśenopayuktadravyasaṃskārakatvaṃ tyāgāṃśenādṛṣṭārthatvamevamihāpi tyāgāṃśenādṛṣṭārthatve 'pi prakṣepāṃśena tatpratipattitvāttadupapattirityarthaḥ //
ayañcātra viśeṣaḥ ------- sviṣṭakṛti yajipadārthāntargatoddeśāṃśasyānupayuktāgnisviṣṭakṛddevatāviṣayatvāt tadaṃśepyārādupakārakatvameva, tadīyamantrāntargatoddeśāṃśena tviṣṭadevatāsmārakatvena saṃskārakatvam, prakṛtetu mantrāṃśeneva tyāgāṃśāntargatoddeśenāpīṣṭānāmeva devatātvātsaṃskārakatvameveti //
yathāca yajamānakartṛkatyāgaviśiṣṭoddeśasya na yajivācyatvam, apitu mantreṇa kriyamāṇasyaiveti nyāyasudhākārādīnāṃ lekhanam; tathā taddūṣaṇapuraḥ saraṃ yajamānakartṛkasyaiva tasya tadvācyatvaṃ caturthe vyaktīkariṣyate //
atraca sūktavākasya karaṇamantratvānmantrāntena karmādiḥ sannipātya iti vacanāt sūktavākapāṭhānantaramekaprastaradravyakahomānuṣṭhāne arthāttadānantaryarūpakālalābhātkālārthatāpica prasaṅgādbhaviṣyatītyatra bhaṭṭapādānāṃ siddhānte uktiriti sthite yannyāyasudhākṛto yājyāvatsūktavākasyāpi homakālaprayojyatvena āhutyākhyahūyamānāvasthadravyasaṃbandhalakṣaṇaguṇayogādyājyātvena stutiryukteti granthena prastarapraharaṇasya sūktavākapāṭhayaugapadyābhidhānaṃ, tadayuktameva; āgneyādiyāgeṣu pratyekaṃ devatātvenānvitānāmihāpi tathaiva devatātvāṅgīkāreṇa samuccayena jyotiṣṭomavadāvṛttyāpattāvapi "agniridaṃhavirajuṣate" tyādi tattaddevatāvācipadoccāraṇe satyeva tattaddevatoddeśena dravyatyāgānuṣṭhānāsaṃbhavena yaugapadyāsaṃbhavāt /

vastutastu ---------- agnyādidevatāvidhikalpanāyāṃ pratyekamāgneyādiṣu devatātvenānvitānāmapyagnyādīnāṃ samuccitānāmeva lāghavāddevatātvakalpanasya yuktatvāt tāvatāpyanantaritatattaddevatāprakāśanarūpaprayojanasiddherna yuktaṃ pratyekaṃ tatkalpanamiti paraprayuktaprastarākhyadravyāntarānākṣepeṇaikasyaiva prastarasya tāvaduddeśena mantrapāṭhānantaraṃ sakṛttyāgānuṣṭhānapūrvakaṃ pūrvapakṣopapatterāvṛttau pramāṇābhāvādyaugapadyamasaṃbhavyannyāyaṃ ca /

ataeva śrutibalīyastvātpraharaṇaprayuktaḥ sūktavākaḥ praharaṇābhāve ananuṣṭhīyamāno 'pi vibhajya viniyogāṃśe iṣṭadevatāprakāśanarūpalaiṅgikakāryasyaiva prayojakatvamanumanyate /
nacaivaṃ sūktavākaśabdasyāvayavalakṣaṇārthatvāpattiḥ; sūktavākapadasya suṣṭhu uktaṃ vaktīti vyutpattyā iṣṭadevatāprakāśakamantraviśeṣe yogarūḍhatvāt /
tena yatra yāvatyo devatā iṣṭāḥ prākṛtyo vaikṛtyo vā tatra tāvāneva sūktavākaḥ /
ataśca sūktavākaprātipadikaśrutyanurodhenāpi liṅgābādhaḥ /

tataścāyurādivadiṣṭadevatāprakāśanasyānuṣaṅgikatve 'pi praharaṇasyeṣṭadevatāpadasāmānādhi- karaṇyena sūktavākaṃ prati prayojakatvāttatsattve saṃpūrṇasūktavākapāṭho 'vikala ityarthaḥ

yadanena haviṣeti mantre pratyakṣanirdiṣṭasya prastarahaviṣa āyurādiphalasyaca nirdeśenaikadeśapāṭhasya sākāṅkṣatvenāyuktatvācca tadaṃśe homasya prayojakatve 'pīṣṭadevatāprakāśanasyāpi mantraliṅgādhīnatvātsannipattyopakārakatvakalpanābhūlatvāt vibhajya viniyogāṃśamātre prayojakatvamātraṃ kalpyate, natu homābhāve 'pi sūktavākapāṭhaviṣaye ityabhipretyāha -------- ata eveti /
ataeva apūrve avabhṛthe praharaṇābhāve ājyabhāgādyaṅgeṣṭadevatāprakāśanārthatayā na sūktavākapāṭha iti bhāvaḥ /

"paramārthatastu praharaṇāṅgatvopadeśātprakriyamāṇaprastaraprakāśanaprādhānyāvagaternārthato 'pi vākyabheda" iti nyāyasudhoktau "tathā sati prastaraprakāśanatātparyakatvena praharaṇaprayuktatāpattestasya ca sūktavākaśabdena puroḍāśakapālavaddevatāprakāśanatātparyakatvena tatprayuktasyaiva sato viniyogena siddhānte 'niṣṭatvādi"tiprakāśakārairdūṣaṇamāpādya idamāyuktaprastarajoṣaṇakartṛtayā prādhānyena sakalaprayogasamaveteṣṭadevatāprakāśana eva tātparyaṃ tadavighātenaiva praharaṇe 'pi viniyogāt devatākalpakatvamityuktaṃ ------- parāstam; tuṣopavāpānuṣṭhānāt kālāntarīṇakapālopādānaprayojakatvasya puroḍāśa ivehāpi tadāpattivāraṇāya iṣṭadevatāprakāśanaprayuktasya sūktavākasya praharaṇaprayojyatvāvaśyakatayā praharaṇasaṃbandhidravyaprakāśakatvena praharaṇaprayojakatvasyākāmenāpatteḥ /
anyathā yathāśakti prayoge prastarahomābhāve 'pi anūyājottaramiṣṭadevatāprakāśanānurodhena sūktavākapāṭhāpatteḥ /
ato yathaiva darśapūrṇamāsāprayuktasyāpi bhedanahomasya bhedanaprayojyatvānnaikatareṇa vinā tadanuṣṭhānamevaṃ praharaṇaprayuktasūktavākāntargatakatipayapadajanyeṣṭadevatāprakāśanasyaiva prayojakatvamādāya sūktavākaśabdanirdeśyatvopapatteḥ praharaṇasyāpi ceṣṭadevatāprakāśanaprayuktereva prayojanatvamityaṅgīkārāt anyonyaniyamasiddhiḥ /
puroḍāśakapāletu tuṣopavāpakālīnapuroḍāśopādānaprayuktatvāsaṃbhavāt puroḍāśakapālapade siddhavannirdeśapratīteḥ tuṣopavāpaṃ vināpi prayuktatvasiddhiriti vaiṣamyam /
ataeva yadaṃśe prayojakatvaṃ anyataḥ sidhyati na tadaṃśe anyatarasyāpi prayojakatvaṃ kalpyate, gauravādato vibhajyaviniyogāṃśe iṣṭadevatāprakāśanasya prayojakatvam anuṣṭhānāṃśe praharaṇasyeti na ko 'pi virodhaḥ /

atraca "prakaraṇāvibhāgādubhe prati kṛtsnaśabda" iti sūtrasvārasyena sūktavākapadasya rūḍhyabhyupagamena prayogadvayavartipraharaṇadvayoddeśena kṛtsnasūktavākavidhāne 'pi 'ekaikapraharaṇe avayavaśaḥ prayogasiddhiri'ti śrutivirodhaparihāramāśaṅkya 'yājyādipade lakṣaṇāpatteḥ samudāyasya phalasādhanatvāyogāt samudāyināmeva phalaṃ pratyupādeyatayā vivakṣitasāhityānāṃ sādhanatve 'pītikartavyatāṃśe uddeśyatvenāvivakṣitasāhityānāmanvayāt pratyekamevetikartavyatayā prayājādīnāmiva praharaṇasyānvaye sūktavākasyāpi tadaṅgasya pratyekameva anvayaprāptau kālaikyāt trayāṇāmarthe praharaṇatantratayā tantreṇaivānuṣṭhānaprāpteravayavaśaḥ prayogāsiddhe'riti bhāṣyakāreṇa pradūṣya, devatāpadānāṃ parasparānvayābhāvenaikārthapratipādakatvāsaṃbhavātnaikaḥ sūktavāko 'pi tvadabhitastantrapadāpetā ekaikadevatāpadabhinnāḥ bahavaḥ sūktavākāḥ, ataśca vibhaktasyaiva sūktavākasya tṛtīyayā praharaṇāṅgatvāt prātipadikatṛtīyāśrutyoravirodhe sati ekavacanasya sūktavākasāmānyābhiprāyeṇopapattiriti tasmin kāle yāvadapekṣā tasminkāle tāvaddevatāvācipadayuktasyaiva sūktavākatvāt tāvanmātreṇa praharaṇānuṣṭhāne vaiguṇyāprasakteriṣṭadevatāprakāśanarūpalaiṅgikakāryānurodhenaikapraharaṇaprayogatantrapadānāṃ sakṛtpāṭhe 'pi sūktavākatrayapāṭhopapattiriti kṛtaṃ virodhaparihāraṃ vārtikakāro adūṣayat /
yadyapi pratyekapadānāṃ naikārthyābhidhāyakatvam; tathāpi
"yadanena haviṣāśāste" ityekavākyatayaikaprayojanakatvenaikārthatvam /
tatra ceṣṭadevatāprakāśanasyaiva prayojakatvādarthataḥ prādhānyam /
tathāpi pūrvoktarītyā praharaṇasyāpi aṅgitvena śabdator'thataśca prādhānyasattvādekaprayojanatvopapattiḥ /
yadica tattaddevatāprakāśanānāmeva śabdataḥ prādhānyamaṅgīkṛtya nānāvākyatvamiṣyeta, tato
"yā te aṅgna" ityādivadabhitaḥ tantrapadānāmapyanuṣaṅgeṇa pṛthakpāṭhāpattiḥ /
sūktavākenetyekavacanabalāt aniyamenaikasyaiva sūktavākasya śrutyā viniyogāpatteḥ tadaṃśa eva sannipatyopakārakatvalābhārthamiṣṭadevatāprakāśanārthatvopapatteḥ; sūktavākatrayapāṭhe pramāṇābhāvāt yāvat pradhānatrayadevatākatvānupapattiśca /
ato vaiśvānaravākyavat upakramopasaṃhāraikyenaikavākyatvānnānāvākyatvena sūktavākabahutvāsiddheḥ samudāya eva sūktavākatvāt prātipadikaśrutivirodhe avayavaśaḥ prayogo durnnivāra iti /

"vidhauca samudāye ca toyaśabdo yatheṣyate /
saṃsargidravyarūpatvāt sūktavākapade tathā" //

etena -------- ardhendrāṇi juhotītivat agnisaṃbodhyatvaṃ sūktavāgasītyabhidhānāt sūktavākapadaghaṭitatvena sūktavākatvasya mantre saṃbhave 'pīha mantrāntargatapadaprakāśyārthamādāya yogasyāntaraṅgatayā saṃbhavatastyāgena padaghaṭitayogasyābahiraṅgasyāśrayaṇaṃ na yuktamiti ------- sūcitam; ataśceṣṭadevatāprakāśanarūpakāryānurodhena iṣṭadevatāprakāśakapadamātroccāraṇenāniṣṭadevatāvācipadānuccāraṇe sūktavākatvānupapattyā siddhesūktavākatvānapāyānna sūktavākapadaśrutivirodhaḥ, pratyutānapekṣitāniṣṭadevatāpadoccāraṇe ajuṣatetyuddiṣṭarūpoktavacanasyānṛtatayā duruktavākyatvāpattirityarthaḥ /

"āśāste 'yaṃ yajamāno 'sā" vityādeḥ sarvanāmātideśadvārā āmnātadevadattādināmapūritasyamantrasya yathāyuktisahitapāṭhena kārtsnyāvadhāraṇā, tathehāpi yuktisahitapāṭhena kṛtsnasūktavākāvadhāraṇayā tāvāneva sūktavākaḥ paṭhanīya ityarthaḥ /

"tena tridhaiva mantavyaḥ sūktavākaḥ pratiṣṭhitaḥ /
svādhyāye karmakāleca prakṛtau vikṛtāvapi /

adhyayanādikāle iṣṭatvābhāvena phalopahiteṣṭadevatāprakāśakamantratvābhāvena yogabādhāttadarthaṃ svarūpayogyatāmātreṇa śaktyaṅgīkāre cāniṣṭadevatāprakāśakapadānāmapi yogyatāmātreṇa prayogopapatteradhyayanādikāle sarvasūktavāka eva tatprasiddheḥ rūḍhikalpanamāvaśyakamityāśaṅkārthaḥ /

siddhāntaprayojanoktyā pūrvapakṣe vyatirekeṇa paurṇamāsyāmamāvāsyāyāṃ vā kṛtsnasya prayojanamiti prayojanamarthāt sūcitam

ataśca vākyaprakaraṇādinā sāmānyasaṃbandhabodhakapramāṇena tattadākāṅkṣotthāpanāttattatkratusaṃbandhe 'vagate dvāraviśeṣa eva liṅgādavagamyate /
naca vācastomīyavākyena prakaraṇādibādhaḥ; mantraviśeṣaviṣayāṇāṃ teṣāṃ mantrapāṭhakālotpannamantraprayojanākāṅkṣāvelāyāmanupasthitena tena vākyena bādhāyogāt /
nacaivaṃ prabalena viniyuktasyāpi durbalena viniyoge utkṛṣṭasyāpi pūṣānumantraṇamantrasya prakaraṇena gauṇer'the viniyogāpattiḥ; pramāṇadvayasyāpyekaviṣayatvānmantraprayojanākāṅkṣāvelāyāṃ prabalapramāṇasyopasthitatvācca bādhakatvopapatteḥ /
ataśca prakṛte bādhāyogātkramasamākhyānurodhāt kāmyeṣṭiviṣayatvameva mantrāṇām /
nacānyatrākāṅkṣotthāpakaṃ kiñcidasti; avyabhicaritakratusaṃbandhāderākāṅkṣotthāpakatve pramāṇābhāvāt /

vastutastu nātrāvyabhicāro 'pi; juhvādīnāṃ hi na tattvenānyatra kāraṇateti tasyā yuktaḥ kratunāvyabhicāritaḥ saṃbandhaḥ, devatārūpasyāgnyādiśabdasya tu ānupūrvīviśiṣṭavarṇatvena kratuṃ pratīva svārthapratipādanaṃ pratyapi kāraṇatvānnāvyabhicaritakratusaṃbandha iti vaiṣamyam /
ataśca vyabhicārāt avyabhicāre 'pi vā'kāṅkṣotthāpakatvānupapatternānyatra viniyogaḥ /
ataeva svārasikī ākāṅkṣā yatra na nivartate yathār'thajñāne upaniṣajjanyātmajñāne vā, tatra ākāṅkṣotthāpanaprayojanābhāvāt sāmānyasaṃbandhabodhakapramāṇaṃ vināpi bhavatyeva liṅgamātrādviniyogaḥ, prakṛte tu svārasikākāṅkṣānivṛtterākāṅkṣotthāpakasāmānya- saṃbandhabodhakapramāṇāpekṣeti vaiṣamyam /
nacaivaṃ prabalakramamātreṇaiva tadupapatteḥ samākhyāvaiyarthyam; yatra sāptadaśyavadagnidevatyakarmakrame āgneyamantradvayāmnānaṃ tatra prathamātikrame kāraṇābhāvātkramāvirodhācca sāmidhenīṣu niveśe prāpte samākhyayā yājyānuvākyākārye niveśaḥ, sāmidhenīṣu tvanyāsāmāgamaḥ /

nahi liṅgaṃ sāmānyataḥ kratusaṃbandhe 'vagata eva dvāraviśeṣe viniyojakamityatra kiñcinniyāmakamasti /
śrutivadeva pūrvaṃ kratusaṃbandhānavagame 'pi ākāṅkṣāsahakṛtaliṅgamātreṇa viniyogopapatterityarthaḥ /

idameva sāmānyasaṃbandhabodhakapramāṇasāpekṣatvaṃ liṅgasya, śrutestu svata eva tadutthāpakatvāt tadanapekṣetyarthaḥ /

nahi vahniviṣaye nirākāṅkṣasya vahnyanumitau jātāyāṃ tadviṣaye vyāptimātreṇākāṅkṣā upajāyate /
ato na tasyākāṅkṣotpādakatvasaṃbhava ityarthaḥ /
avyabhicaritakratusaṃbandhasvarūpasyānyathā durupapādatvāt apūrvamātranirūpitasādhanatāvacchedakībhūtadharmāvacchinnasyāpūrvāvyabhicaritatvarūpatayaivāvaśyanirvacanīyasyāpi ihāsaṃbhava ityāha -------- vastutastviti //

tathā "apahatapāpmā vijaro vimṛtyuḥ viśoko vijighnannasaṃpipāsaḥ satyakāmaḥ satyasaṃkalpa" ityādyupaniṣatkṛtapāpādidoṣarāhityakāmyamānaphalaprāptiprayatnānapekṣasaṃkalpamātrādhīnasiddhirūpaguṇaviśiṣṭātma pratipādanapūrvikayā "so 'nveṣṭavyaḥ sa vijijñāsitavya" iti śrutyā vihitaṃ vedāntavākyāvadhāraṇātmakajijñāsopetaṃ tadavadhāritātmasvarūpānucintanākhyānveṣaṇātmakamapahatapāpmatvādi- guṇaviśiṣṭātmajñānaṃ dvitīyam /
tathā ātmānamupāsītetyādi vidhivihitaṃ nirguṇātmaviṣayamaparokṣasākṣātkāraparyantamātmajñānaṃ tṛtīyamiti yadyapyātmajñānaṃ trividham; tathāpi dvitīyatṛtīyayorupāsanārūpātmajñānayoḥ karmaṇi puruṣe vā dṛṣṭaprayojanābhāvādadṛṣṭāpekṣāyāṃ śrutyādyabhāvena kratvaṅgatvānupapatteḥ "sa sarvāṃśca lokānāpnoti sarvāṃśca kāmānavāpnoti tarati śokamātmavidi" tyādivākyaśeṣasamarpitaṃ dvitīyātmajñānasya phalam, tathā "sa khalvevaṃ vartayan yāvadāyuṣaṃ brahmalokamabhisaṃbadhyate naca punarāvartate" iti vākyaśeṣasasarpitaṃ phalaṃ tṛtīyātmajñānasyeti vyākaraṇādhikaraṇe ācāryaiḥ puruṣārthatvasya pratipādanādiha prathamamevātmajñānaṃ grāhyam /
tasya kratvaṅgatvaṃ kevalaliṅgādeva /
yadyapyatrāpi vākyaśeṣasamarpitaṃ phalaṃ saṃbhāvyate, tathāpi tasya parṇamayīnyāyenārthavādatvāt aṅgatvamevetyarthaḥ /

naca ------- arthajñānasya sākṣātkarmasu sāmarthyādavyabhicāridvārānapekṣaṇāt liṅgamātreṇa karmaṇi viniyogasaṃbhave 'pi ātmajñānasya sākṣātkarmaviṣayatvābhāvena tatrāsāmarthyāt jñeyātmarūpasya dvārasya lokavedasādhāraṇyena kratvavyabhicārābhāvāt kathaṃ tanmātreṇa kratvaṅgatvam iti ------- vācyam; laukikakarmapravṛtteḥ dehādivyatiriktātmajñānaṃ vināpi siddheḥ tadvyāvṛttaye avyabhicaritadvārānapekṣaṇāt pāralaukikaphalasādhanakarmaṇāmevākāṅkṣitatvena sāmarthyamātreṇa tadupapatterityarthaḥ /
vistareṇa caitadviśvajidadhikaraṇe caturthe upapādayiṣyate /
atraca yathānuṣṭheyakarmānuṣṭhānaupayikatvena ātmajñānasya karmāṅgatā tathā na niṣiddhakarmāṅgatvam; tathātve anātmajñānavatā kṛtabrahmahananapratyavāyajanakatvānāpatteḥ, kintu tatphalībhūtanivṛttyaṅgatvameva /
taduktaṃ vārtike -------- "ātmajñānaṃ hi saṃyogapṛthaktvāt kratvarthapuruṣārthatvena jñāyate /
tena vinā paralokaphaleṣu karmasu pravṛttinivṛttyasaṃbhavāt /

etāvāṃstu viśeṣaḥ ------- niṣedhaparipālanarūpanivṛtterapūrvajanakatvābhāvena tatropaniṣanniyamajanyāpūrvānupayogānnityatvādiprakārakātmajñānasya nivṛttau svarūpopayogitayaivopayogaḥ, upaniṣanniyamastu nāpekṣyate, vihitakarmasu tu so 'pīti jñeyam /
athavā ------- yathā niṣedhādhyayananiyamo niṣedheṣvanupayujyamāno 'pinimittaniścayadvārā prāyaścitteṣu upayujyate, tathoktātmajñānaniyamo niṣedhe anupayukto 'pi prāyaścittādhikārahetubhūtāmanutāpahetukāṃ nivṛttiṃ saṃpādayan prāyaścitteṣu upayujyata iti draṣṭavyam //
etacca sāmānyasaṃbandhabodhakapramāṇaṃ vinā kvāpi liṅgamātrasya viniyojakatvāyogāt "yadeva vidyayā karoti śraddhayopaniṣadā tadeva vīryavattaraṃ bhavatī"ti "omityudgīthamupāsīte"ti udgīthopāsanāprakaraṇe chāndogye paṭhitābhyāmapi vākyābhyāmeva prakaraṇabādhena tayoḥ kratvaṅgatvaṃ na liṅgamātreṇeti nyāyasudhākṛto 'bhimatamapi prakaraṇabādhenaitadvākyābhyāṃ sarvakratvaṅgatvāyogādayuktamiti pārthasārathyabhisaṃhitadūṣaṇamabhipretyoktam /
nyāyasudhākṛnmatopanyāsapūrvakaṃ taddūṣaṇopanyāseca prakāśakāraireva parākrāntamiti neha tat prapañcyate //
paramārthatastu --------- yadi kṛṣyādivannityaprāptasya vidhikalpane pramāṇābhāvena vidheyatvānupapatteḥ janyatāmātrabodhe 'pi aṅgatvāsaṃbhavāt aṅgatābodhakatvena "yadeve"tyetadvākyadvayameva svīkartavyamiti kaustubhe pūjyapādoktamanusandhīyate, tadā karotītyasya leṭtvaṃ prakalpya kathañcit nyāyasudhoktameva sādhviti jñeyam //

ataeva samākhyāpyupapannā bhavatīti prāpte --------- grahaṇādipratyakṣavidhyabhāve 'pi samākhyāsahakṛtāvāntaraprakaraṇena bhakṣasaṃbandhe tattanmantrāṇāmavagate liṅgabalena māntravarṇikagrahaṇādividhikalpanayā tatprāptyupapattestadarthatvenaiva mantraviniyogopapattau na svato nirākāṅkṣayordvayorākhyātapadayoḥ kathañcidekavākyatāṃ parikalpya gauṇyā bhakṣārthatvakalpanam śaktyaiva vā bhakṣaviśeṣaṇatvena grahaṇādiprakāśakatvakalpanamupapattimat /
nacaivamapi samyagjaraṇasya kṛtyasādhyatvānna vidhisaṃbhavaḥ; samyagjaraṇānukūlavyāpārasyāsanaviśeṣasyaivānuṣṭheyasya vidheyatvāt /

śivo me saptarṣīnupatiṣṭhasva yā me vāṅmābhimatigāḥ /
mandrābhibhūtiḥ keturyajñānāṃ vāgjuṣāṇā somasya tṛpyatu ------- vasumadgaṇasya rudravadgaṇasyādityavadgaṇasya somadevate matividaḥ prātaḥsavanasya mādhyandinasya savanasya gāyatrachandasaḥ triṣṭup chandaso jagacchandaso 'gnihuta indrapītasya narāśaṃsapītasya pitṛpītasya madhumata upahūtasyopahūto bhakṣayāmi" ityantasya bhāgasyopādānam /

taittirīyaśākhāyāntu avakhyeṣamityasyāgre mandrābhibhūtirityādi bhakṣayāmītyantaṃ paṭhitvā hinva me iti paṭhitam /
pūrvapakṣopayogitayā ityevaṃ samākhyāta ityuktam /
tatra sarvasyāpyudāharaṇatāśaṅkānirāsāya viṣayaṃ vivinakti ------ tatreti //
mandrābhibhūtirityādi juṣāṇetyantasya tṛptyā asya phalaprakāśanapūrvakaṃ bhakṣaṇaprakāśanārthatvasya spaṣṭatvāt tṛpyatvityantasya bhakṣaṇaprakāśakatvasya uttarādhikaraṇe sādhayiṣyamāṇatvācca vasumadādeśca liṅgasamākhyābhyāṃ nirvivādameva "abhiṣutyāhavanīye hutvā pratyañcaḥ paretya sadasi bhakṣān bhakṣayatī"ti vihitabhakṣaṇāṅgatvam /
tadgatānāñca prātaḥsavanādiśabdānāṃ tathā indrapītādiśabdānāṃ ca sūktavākavibhāgādhikaraṇanyāyena tadvadeva yathāsavanaṃ viniyogasya spaṣṭatvamiti nodāharaṇatvamityarthaḥ /
aṃśānāmiti //
"bhakṣehime" tyādeḥ "sadhyāsami" tyantasya grahaṇe "nṛcakṣasami"tyādera "vakhyeṣami" tyantasya avekṣaṇe "hinva me"tyādeḥ "atigā" ityantasya samyagjaraṇe ityevamaṃśānāṃ viniyoga ityarthaḥ /
tatra siddhānte yathāliṅgaṃ viniyogāt tadupayogyuddeśyatāvacchedakanirūpaṇāt pādādhyāyasaṅgatī tathā pūrvādhikaraṇe kratusaṃbandharahitadvārasaṃbandhānupapatteḥ prakṛtagrahaṇe ukte prakṛte sarvathāvihitagrahaṇāderapūrvasaṃbandhābhāve dvāratvābhāva ityevaṃ pūrvapakṣotthānāt pratyudāharaṇarūpāṃ anantarasaṅgatiñca spaṣṭatvādanuktvā pādādhyāyasaṅgatyoratispaṣṭatvaṃ prathamataḥ siddhāntakoṭyupanyāsena sūcayan sandehaṃ darśayati ------- kimiti //
grahaṇādyarthatve liṅgamātrasattve 'pi grahaṇādisvarūpārthatve mantraniyamasyānarthakyāpatteḥ teṣāmavihitatvenāpūrvaṃ pratyaṅgatvasya janakasya vābhāve tadapūrvasādhanatvalakṣaṇayā ānarthakyaparihārānupapatterna tadaṅgatvena mantraviniyogo yuktaḥ, apitu vihitabhakṣaṇāṅgatayaivetyabhipretya pūrvapakṣamāha ------- grahaṇāderiti //
bhakṣājanakatvenaiveti //
grahaṇaṃ vinā bhakṣaṇāsaṃbhavena tasya pakṣaprāptasaṃbhāvanāyāmapi avekṣaṇasya loke niyamatastajjanakatvāvikḷpteḥ sarvathaivāprāptirityarthaḥ //
bhakṣottarabhāvitayeti //
naca ------- bhakṣottarabhāvibhakṣaṇajanyaphalaprakāśanadvārā aganmetyādimantrasya darśapūrṇamāsāṅgatvamiva bhakṣaṇāṅgatvamiti ------- vācyam; kavalasaṃyogarūpabhakṣaṇasya bhakṣyamāṇapratipattirūpatayā samyagjaraṇaphalakatvābhāvāditi bhāvaḥ //

satyapyākhyātabhede upakramopasaṃhāraikye satyekavākyatāprayojakībhūtākāṅkṣāsattvasya vaiśvānaravākye darśanādatrāpi bhakṣehītyādinā bhakṣaṇasyaivopakramāt bhakṣayāmītyantena tasyaivopasaṃhārādupakramopasaṃhāraikyapratīterekavākyatāprayojakībhūtākāṅkṣārūpaliṅgāt grahaṇāvekṣaṇasamyagjaraṇaviśiṣṭatvena athavā bhakṣaṇalakṣaṇayāvā bhakṣārthatvamityarthaḥ /
evaṃ laukikaviniyogāsaṃbhave pūrvoktaikavākyatārūpaliṅgopaṣṭabdhayā durbalayāpi samākhyayā viniyoge virodhābhāva ityāha --------- ataeveti //
yadyapīyaṃ laukikī; tathāpi anāditvāt bhakṣasaṃbandhabodhe niyāmakatayā yogyatvādaṅgatvaṃ gamayantyupapannā bhavati /
itarathā bhakṣābhakṣasamudāyāśrayeṣu liṅgasamavāyena gauṇīvṛttirāśrayaṇīyā bhavedityarthaḥ /
ato yadyapi "bhakṣehītyādriyamāṇaṃ pratīkṣya" " aśvinostvā bāhubhyāṃsadhyāsamiti" pratigṛhyetyāpastambasūtre pratīkṣaṇe bhakṣehītyayamaṃśo viniyuktaḥ; tathāpi pratīkṣaṇaliṅgakatvāpratīterayuktaṃ taditi matvā sarvasyāpyanuvākasya bhakṣāṅgatvamabhipretya pūrvapakṣamupasaṃharati -------- iti prāpta iti //
yadyapi cātra upakramopasaṃhāraikyādekavākyatopagamanarūpaṃ kḷptaṃ bhavet; tathāpi grahaṇādiprakāśakamantrabhāgasya bhakṣaṇāṅgatvaṃ vākyenaiveti tasya prabalena liṅgena bādhopapattiḥ /
vastutastu ------- upakramasya sādhāraṇatvāt pratyuta mukhyasāmarthyānurodhena grahaṇādiviṣaya evopapatternātrākhyātabhede satyekavākyatvamapi /
naca dīrghāyutvāyetyasya bhakṣaṇaphalapratipādakasya grahaṇe 'nanvaya eva bhakṣaṇārthatvatātparyagrāhakaḥ; tasya grahaṇaphalībhūtabhakṣaṇaphalapratipādanena stāvakatayānvayopapatteḥ, ato liṅgenaikavākyatābhaṅgāt grahaṇādyaṅgatvamevetyabhipretya siddhāntaṃ pratipādayan ānarthakyaparihārāya prathamato grahaṇādividhiṃ sādhayati ------ grahaṇādīti //
kalpakamantrasya bhakṣāṅgatvāt tatkalpyavidhivihitagrahaṇādīnāmapi bhakṣāṅgatvasiddhirityarthaḥ /
tadarthatvenaiveti //
yadyapi sadherhiṃsārthatvāccakṣiṇau bhāṣaṇārthatvāddhinotergatyarthatvānna grahaṇāvekṣaṇasamyagjaraṇaprakāśanaliṅgataiṣāṃ saṃbhavati; tathāpi bījatantusantānārthanirvapatineva bāhudbayakaraṇakahiṃsāvinābhāvāt bāhukaraṇatvārhatayā ca lakṣaṇayā grahaṇapratipādakatvam /
cakṣiṅaḥ khyāñityanena vihitasya khyāñādeśasyāniṭtvena khyeṣamiti rūpāsiddhāvapi chandasi dṛṣṭānuvidhitvena khyeñityupasaṅkhyānakaraṇāt sic bahulaṃ leṭīti sickaraṇāśrayaṇāt vāgviṣayavyaktatākhyaprakāśanavācināpyavakhyeṣamityanena loke khyāta ityādau vede ca nṛṣu khyāyata iti nṛcakṣā ityevamihaiva sarvajñātatvarūpaprasiddhyākhyaprakāśanamātre prayogāttatpareṇa satā sucakṣuṣṭvācisucakṣuḥ padaikavākyatāvaśāt cākṣuṣajñānākhyāvekṣaṇarūpaprakāśanapratipādanamaviruddham /
hinoteśca prīṇane 'pi prayogāddhinvetyanena he haritavarṇa soma me gātrāṇi prīṇaya gaṇānindriyagaṇān vedabhāṣyakāralekhanāt putrādīn vā somapānaviṣayatṛṣṇārahitān mā kuru śivaḥ san me saptarṣīn āsyasaptamacakṣurnāsāśrotrākhyadvandvadvayarūpaśīrṣa ṇyacchidrasañcārisaptaprāṇākhyānupatiṣṭhasva vāknābhimatikramya mukhavāyumārgeṇa mā gā ityarthāvagamāt samyagjaraṇaṃ vinā tadanupapatteḥ gātraprīṇanaphalībhūtasamyagjaraṇapratipādakatvañca saṃbhavatīti tadarthatvenaiva viniyoga ityarthaḥ /
yadyapyagnaye juṣṭamiti mantrasya devatānirvāpaprakāśakatvavadasyāpi grahaṇādiviśiṣṭabhakṣaṇaprakāśakatvāṅgīkāreṇa mantraikatvamabhyupagamyāpi grahaṇānaṅgatvaṃ śakyate vaktum; tathāpi upakramopasaṃhāraikyādirūpaikavākyatopagamanasāmarthyābhāve svarasataḥ pratīyamānatattadākhyātagatamukhyaviśeṣyārthakatvabādha eva pramāṇābhāvo mantrabhedāṅgīkāre kathaṃ cicchabdena sūcitaḥ /
vamanavireketi //
"somaindraṃ caruṃ nirvapet śyāmākaṃ somavāmina" iti samyagjaraṇābhāvanimittavyaṅgatāsamādhitsayā vamane prāyaścittasya vireke 'pi kvacit prāyaścittasya cāmnānāt bhakṣaṇasya udasthāpanarūpapratipattyarthatvāvagamena tasya samyagjaraṇaṃ vinānupapatteḥ tadanukūlāsanaviśeṣasya vidheyasya bhakṣopayogitetyarthaḥ /
etena -------- tṛptivadānuṣaṅgikatayā ananuṣṭheyatvānna mantrāpekṣā iti ------- apāstam; grahaṇādivat pṛthakprayatnānuṣṭheyatvena tadapekṣopapatteḥ /
evañca bhakṣānuvākasamākhyā sākṣāt paraṃparayā ca neyeti bhāvaḥ //
prayojanaṃ pūrvapakṣe grahaṇādeḥ na niyamaḥ /
mantrapāṭhakrameṇa pāṭhānte bhakṣaṇaṃ siddham /
siddhānte grahaṇādeḥ naiyatyena pūrvoktatattanmantrānte anuṣṭhānam /

indrāya tvā vasumata ityādimānagrahaṇamantrāṇāṃ ca liṅgādindramātraviṣayatvāttadanurodhena ca tatprakāśyayormānagrahaṇayostatsaṃskāryasya somasya tatsaṃskārāṇāṃ cābhiṣavādīnāṃ tanmiśrāṇāṃ cāṅgāntarāṇāmaindramātraviṣayatvapratīteritareṣāmadharmakāṇāṃ yukto 'tideśaḥ /
bhavati cāṅgavaśenāpi pradhānasaṃkocaḥ; agnyādyanurodhena kratūnāmāhitāgniviṣayatvāt /

yadyapi bahuvrīhāvanyapadārthe śaktiḥ; tathāpyavayavārthopasthitisāpekṣatvādanyapadārthopasthitestatra gauravam /

samānādhikaraṇānāṃ bahuvrīhiriṣyata iti kātyāyanasmaraṇāt vyadhikaraṇapadānāṃ tadanupapatteḥ
"saptamīviśeṣaṇe bahuvrīhā" viti jñāpakabalāt kaṇṭhekāla ityādau saptamyantabahuvrīhyāśrayaṇe 'pīha tathā'śrayaṇe pramāṇābhāvātlakṣaṇānanugatatvam, tatpuruṣetu "kartṛkaraṇe kṛtā bahulami"ti anuśāsanaśiṣṭatvam //

nanu śabdasya devatātvāt kathaṃ svīkṛta ityarthopapattirityāśaṅkāṃ bahuvrīhāvapyavaśyāpekṣitaprakāreṇa pariharati ---------- vidyate ceti //
nanu nāyaṃ tatpuruṣaḥ; tathātve samāsasyeti sūtreṇāntodāttatvāpatteḥ, ādyudāttaṃ caitatpītapadam, indrapratipādakantu svata eva ādyudāttam, tathā sati bahuvrīhau prakṛtyā pūrvapadamiti sūtreṇa pūrvapadaprakṛtisvaravidhānāt samastameva padamādyudāttaṃ saṃpadyate /
ataḥ sthūlapṛṣatītyatreva svarāt bahuvrīhinirṇaye sati savanaparatvopapattirityabhipretyāśaṅkate -------- naceti //

"tṛtīyā karmaṇī"ti sūtreṇa karmaṇi ktānte upapade pare tṛtīyāntaṃ pūrvapadaṃ prakṛtisvaraṃ bhavatīti vidhānāt tathā "ktece" ti sūtreṇāpi tatsvaravidhānāt tatpuruṣapakṣe 'pi svarāvirodhaḥ kaustubhe upapādita ityarthaḥ /

naca śeṣasyottaradevatoddeśena tyāge 'pi pūrvadevatāsaṃbandhasyāpi sattvāttadupalakṣaṇatvopapattiḥ; akṛte 'pi yāge yājñikānāṃ nirvāpaprabhṛti pratipattiparyantaṃ devatāntarasaṃbandhi haviriti vyavahārāt dravye devatāsaṃbandhasya pratipattināśyasyāvaśyakalpanīyasya dharmigrāhakapramāṇena devatāntarasaṃbandhavirodhitvāvagamāt tadatyantābhāvasamānādhikaraṇasyatatsāmānādhikaraṇyānupapatteravaśyaṃ śeṣasyottaradevatāsaṃbandhe pūrvadevatāsaṃbandhāpanayapratīternopalakṣaṇīya ityarthaḥ //
tyāgavelāyāṃ saṃsṛṣṭatvena vivekāpratītāvapi satyapicābhyunnayanakāle prakṛtau vikṛtau vā devatāsaṃbandhābhāve prakṛtāvunnayanasya dṛṣṭārthatvāt yāgīyadravyasaṃskārakatvāvagatervikṛtāvapi prākṛtonnayanānuvādena droṇakalaśāpādanakatvamātravidhānena prākṛtakāryavannayanāntaravidhānena vā punarabhyunnītasyaiva phalacamasahṛdayādivat yāgīyatvapratīteḥ pūrvaśeṣasyaca yāgīyadravyādhārapātrolakṣaṇatayā 'payasā maitrāvaruṇaṃ śrīṇātī"ti vihitapayasa iva abhyunnītasaṃskāramātratvāvagateruttarayāgārthatve pramāṇābhāvāt pūrvayāgīyahaviḥśeṣabhakṣaṇasya tantreṇānuṣṭhānānurodhādanapanītadevatāsaṃbandhādupalakṣaṇīyaiva pūrvadevatetyabhipretya siddhāntamāha ------- unnayanakāla iti //
atraca rikteṣu pātreṣu yena somapūraṇaṃ kriyate sa unnayanapadasyārthaḥ /
somaśeṣasahiteṣveva teṣu somāntarapūraṇaṃ yena kriyate sa abhyunnayanapadasyārthaḥ /
yadyapi ūhasyaindrapradānamātrasaṃbandhitvasya vā sthāyitvābhāvādetadvicārasyāsthāyinaḥ sthāyinā prayojanena na prayojanam /
ataeva uktamabhiyuktaiḥ ------- 'ākṣepe cāpavādeca prāptyāṃ lakṣaṇakarmaṇi /
prayojanaṃ na vaktavyaṃ yacca kṛtvā pravartate /
' iti; tathāpi etadvicārahetubhūtasya pūrvaśeṣavṛttyuttarayāgāṅgatvasadasadbhāvarūpavicārasya sthāyina udāharaṇāntare phalībhūtatvena uttarayāgakāle abhyunnītamātrasyaiva devatāsaṃbandhānusandhānānanusandhānarūpamavaśyavaktavyaṃ prayojanaṃ spaṣṭatvāt noktam //

tatra pūrvādhikaraṇe savanamukhīyeṣu camaseṣu aindrapradānānāṃ prakṛtitvenetareṣāṃ anaindrāṇāṃ vikṛtitvaṃ kṛtvohacintāyāṃ prākṛtadevatāvācakapadaprayogasyāpi kartavyatayā sādhitasya idānīṃ samānanyāyāt graheṣvapyaindrānaindrapradānānāṃ prakṛtivikṛtibhāvāt patnīvadagnipītasyetyūhe devatāntarapadaprayogasyāpi prāptasyehāpavādakaraṇādāpavādikīmanantarasaṅgatimapādānabhūtāgrayaṇāpetatvarūpādvastusāmarthyādanāgrayaṇa- rūpasyāpi pūrvaśeṣasya prasaṅgataḥ pātnīvatayāgāṅgatvavicārāt pādādhyāyasaṅgatīca spaṣṭatvādanuktvā pūrvapakṣamāha ------- tasminniti //
dvidevatyapadaṃ vāyorapyupalakṣaṇam /
apinā patnīvadagnipītasyetyūhavidyamānatā sūcitā /
upalakṣaṇīyā iti //
vāyvindravāyumitrāvaruṇāśvinapatnīvadagnipītasyetyeva indramitrāvaruṇapītasyetivadūhenopalakṣaṇīyā ityarthaḥ /
atra cādityapātragataśeṣasyāpi pūrvoktarītyā'grayaṇasthālyāṃ sattvādādityo 'pyupalakṣaṇīya iti viśeṣaḥ prācīnairnavīnaiścānukto 'pi somanāthenoktaḥ

atracāgrayaṇasthālyāṃ prātaḥsavane dhārādvayena gṛhītvā sāditāyāṃ yaḥ somaḥ sa "ye devāso divyekādaśasthe"ti mantreṇa gṛhītatvāt "te devā yajñamimaṃ juṣadhvami"ti mantraliṅgādyajñasaṃbandhitvenāvagatatvācca samastadevarūpadevatāsaṃbandhena tādṛgdevatyavaiśvadevagrahe śeṣatayā anvita iti tatra homaśeṣasyāgre viniyogābhāvena bhakṣaṇasyaiva prāptestaddevatāsaṃbandhāpanayasya spaṣṭatvānna pātnīvatabhakṣaṇe upalakṣaṇatayā prasaktiḥ /
yathāca vaiśvadevagrahe aṅgapradhānadevatānāṃ sarvāsāmeva devatātvaṃ tathā sūtrabhāṣyakārādibhiḥ dvādaśe prapañcitam /
saṃbhavati vā kṣīranīravivekavatībhiḥ viśvadevadevatābhiḥ sarvadevatāliṅgakamantragṛhītameva sarvasaṃbandhinaṃ somaṃ śeṣāntare satyapi svabhāgatvena svīkartum /
ataeva sādane
"eṣa te yoniḥ viśvebhyastvā devebhya" iti mantragataṃ viśvadevārthasādanaliṅgam; tathāpi "viśve devāḥ śrṛṇutemaṃ havaṃ me ye antarikṣe ya upadyaviṣṭha /
ye agnijihvā uta vā yajatrā āsadyāsmin barhiṣi mādayadhvaṃ" iti yājyāmantreca grahaṇasamānadevatākamantraliṅgaṃ copapadyate /
nitarāṃ ca
"avijñāto vā eṣa yadāgrayaṇa" ityarthavāde viśeṣato devatayā avijñātatvakalpanañca /
yadyapyāgrayaṇasthālyā na viśvebhyo devebhyaḥ pradīyate; tathāpi pātnīvatagṛhītāvaśiṣṭadevatyaśeṣasthāpanārthaṃ vyāpṛtatvāt tasyāścāgre droṇakalaśena gṛhītvā hāriyojanagrahapracārānuṣṭhānāt tatpātrāpradāne 'pi vacanāt pātrāntareṇa
pradāne na ko 'pi doṣaḥ /
ato vaiśvadevahutaśeṣabhakṣaṇe savitrāderupalakṣaṇatvaprasaktāvapi pātnīvate tadīyaśeṣābhāvāt taddevatāsaṃbandhāpanayāt nopalakṣaṇīyā viśvadevadevatā iti nyāyasudhākāraḥ /
etadeva sarvamabhisaṃdhāya āgrayaṇadevatābhūtānāṃ viśveṣāṃ devānāmupalakṣaṇaṃ kasmānna cintyata ityāśaṅkya tadapanayasya niḥsandigdhatvādityeva parihārasūcanārthaṃ tata iti bhāṣyaṃ vyācaṣṭa ityuktaṃ nyāyasudhāyām //
evaṃ sthite yat prakāśakāraiḥ etadanūdya āgrayaṇasthālyā na kvāpi śākhāyāṃ viśvadevebhyo hūyate yatastasya viśvadevapītatvāt tataḥ pātnīvate 'pyānītasya viśvadevapītasyetyūhenopalakṣaṇāśaṅkodiyāt
"ato 'nuṣṭhānamanālocya bahubhāṣī yadūcivān /
āśaṅkā ca samādhānamubhayaṃ tadasaṅgatami"ti dūṣitam, tadāgrayaṇasya sarvadevarūpadevatāsaṃbandhābhāve
"te devā yajñamimañjuṣadhvami"ti mantraliṅgavirodhasya pracārāntare sarvadevatāsaṃbandhābhāvena duṣpariharatvāt tanmate 'pi anuṣṭhānavirodhaprasakteśca anavaratānucintya- mānadveṣyāropitabahubhāṣitvaguṇāveśādeveti viśvadevadevatāsaṃbandhāpanayanaspaṣṭatvahetukopekṣāvyājena pūjyapādaiḥ sūcitam /
pātnīvatasya pūrvamasiddheḥ karmatvenānvayāyogāt gṛhṇāteḥ karmākāṅkṣāyāṃ prasiddhāgrayaṇasyaiva pañcamyā karmatvalakṣaṇayā karmatvenānvaye sati āgrayaṇakarmakagrahaṇena pātnīvantaṃ kuryādityarthena āgrayaṇasthitamātrasyaiva abhyunnītamātre uttaradevatāsaṃbandhasyeva

indrapīta iti bhūtārthakaktapratyayena vidyamānasaṃbandharūpaphalasamānakālīnavyāpārātītatvasyābhidhānāt tasyaca saṃbandhavidyamānatayaiva prakṛtāvupalakṣaṇādiha vidyamānasaṃbandhadevatayopalakṣaṇe aprākṛtakāryakāritvāpatterna tādṛśasyopalakṣaṇatvasaṃbhava ityarthaḥ

nacāsau pānakriyānvayāvyabhicārī; 'sahaiva daśabhiḥ putrairbhāraṃ vahati gardabhī' tyādau vyabhicārāt, satyapi pāne devatātvasyāprāmāṇikatvācca /
ataḥ pātnīvatamiti nirapekṣataddhitena patnīvato 'gnereva devatātvamiti sa evopalakṣaṇīyo na tvaṣṭā // 14 // 28 //

putrāṇāṃ voḍhṛtvābhāve 'pi sāhityadarśanāt kriyānvayivyabhicāritvamityarthaḥ /
pātnīvatamityutpattivākye taddhitena prabalena patnīvanmātrasya devatātvapratītestasya viśeṣyāpekṣāyāṃ samānādhikaraṇapadaśrutyā agneḥ viśeṣyatvenānvaye sati sahabhāvaśrutyanyathānupapattikalpyasya devatātvasya daurbalyena kalpanānupapatteḥ tvaṣṭurdevatātvamaprāmāṇikamityāha ------- satyapīti //

yadyapi yājyāmantrotarārdharce trayastriṃśaddevatānāmeva āvāhanapūrvasomadravyasaṃbandho 'vagamyate, agnestu pūrvārdharce āvāhanamādanakartṛtvena pariveṣṭṛtvamātrāvagaterna haviḥsaṃbandhaḥ; tathāpi ādhvaryavamantre tasyāpi tatsaṃbandhāvagamāt pākṣikamagnerapi viśeṣyatvamastu natvetāvatā trayastriṃśaddevānāṃ viśeṣyatve vivādaḥ, teṣāṃ yājyāmantre nityameva haviḥsaṃbandhāvagamādityarthaḥ /

"yaddhavirvahati tena śeṣeṇa saṃyojayati devatā" mityarthavādena vaṣaṭkāradevatāyai yaddhaviḥ vahati taccheṣeṇānuvaṣaṭkāre devatāṃ saṃyojayatītyarthakeṇa vaṣaṭkārayāgīyasomaśeṣadravyatvapratīteḥ tayā cottamādivat pratipattilakṣaṇasattvenānuvaṣaṭkārayāgasya pratipattitvāvasāyāt "yadvāvasomasyāgnevīhītyanuvaṣaṭkaroti tenaiṣa saṃsthitān somān bhakṣayanti sa eva somasya sviṣṭakṛdi"ti dravyapratipattyarthasviṣṭakṛdyāgarūpatvasaṃstavādapi ca tanniścayācca pratipattikarmatvaṃ nirvivādam /

"vrīhīṇāṃ medha" iti mantrasyāsāmarthyena prakṛtāvūhābhāvena ca lopavadihāpi tasya lopasyaiva prāpterityarthaḥ /
ataeva upadeśena bhakṣaprāptāvindrapītādhikaraṇasiddhānte savanasaṃbandhitvāviśeṣāt mantraviniyoge 'pi na
tadīyadevatopalakṣaṇaprasaktiḥ /

svayāgāṅgabhūtadravyapātṛtvasattve 'pi tatrātideśābhāvena prākṛtadevatākāryāpattyabhāvāt yathā adhvaryuṇā pāne kriyamāṇe tataḥ pūrvaṃ hotrā pītopi na hotṛpītasyetyevamupalakṣayet, tathaivānuvaṣaṭkāradevatā nopalakṣaṇīyetyarthaḥ /

phalacamase nityānityasaṃyogavirodharūpahetorasāmānavidhyepīha tadabhāve tatkalpane naiva kiñcit pramāṇam /
nāpi payasā maitrāvaruṇaṃ śrīṇātītivadaindrapradānābhyāsārthatvena vidhiśravaṇamato nāsāmānavidhyamityarthaḥ

"indrāya tvā vasumate" ityanayoḥ mānagrahaṇamantrayoḥ anaindreṣūhena prayogaḥ prakṛtivikṛtibhāve syāt, sāmānavidhyetu tadasaṃbhavāt yathāvasthitayośca tatrāsāmarthyādaprayoga eveti bhaṭṭasomeśvareṇa kvacit likhitamapi sarvasomanāśāpāditapunaḥpradānāntarārthasomagrahaṇamānānuṣṭhāne mantrasyātideśataḥ prāptasyohaprayogaparameva jñeyam /

pītapade svīkāralakṣaṇāyāmapi hutāhutasamudāyasyaiva tyāgena svīkārāt indrapītapadena vivakṣitasyendrakartṛkasvīkārasya samudāya eva sattvāt tadekadeśasya homena naṣṭasya someti saṃbodhanārthatvāt pratyakṣavacanena te iti śabdena vyapadeṣṭumaśakyatvāt pītapadena pātrasthahutaśeṣarūpasvīkṛtāvayavasya pītapade lakṣaṇāntarasya tatpuruṣe āpattiḥ, bahuvrīhautu hutāhutasamudāyasya pītapadenoktāvapi yasmin savane indreṇa samudāyarūpatayā somaḥ svīkṛtaḥ tatsavanasaṃbandhitvasya hutaśeṣāvayave 'pi sattvāt tatsaṃbandhipātrasthaśeṣasya saṃbodhanopapatteḥ taṃ yatkiñciddevatyaṃ bhakṣayāmītyarthopapatterna doṣaḥ /
yadyapi prātaḥsavanamabhiṣavo yasyeti bahuvrīhiṇā prātaḥsavanapadasya somaparatvamapi, na savanaparatvaniścayaḥ; tathāpi rūḍhyā kratubhāgavācitvenāvagatatvādavayavavyutpattyasaṃbhavāt savanaparatvopapattiḥ /
yadyapi vāgjuṣāṇā somasya tṛpyatviti ṣaṣṭhyantasomaśabdasāmānādhikaraṇyasidhyai prātaḥsavanaśabdasyāvayavavyutpattyā somavācitvaṃ bhavet; tathāpi ādyakratubhāgagatasya kṛtsnasya somasya prātarabhiṣavāt prātaḥsavanaśabdasya kratubhāgagatakṛtsnasomavācitvāpatteḥ somaśabdasya hutaśeṣamātravācitvāt prātaḥ savanasaṃbandhivavācinaṃ śabdaṃ vinā sāmānādhikaraṇyānupapatteḥ prātaḥsavanaśabdasya chapratyayāntatvāpatterna somaparatvam /
ato deva somayastvamindrapītasya prātaḥsavanasya saṃbandhī tasya te 'vayavaṃ bhakṣayāmītyevaṃ ṣaṣṭhī yojyā /
natu yasya prātaḥsavanasya somasya saṃbandhī indrapītastasyetyevaṃ sā yojyeti ubhayapadārthatyāgāpattisāmye prātaḥsavanapadaprāyapāṭhāt bahuvrīhireva yukta ityāśayaḥ /
nanu devatāyāḥ pātṛtvaniṣedhāt pītapade svīkāralakṣaṇā bahuvrīhipakṣe ubhayapadārthatyāgāpattidoṣāpekṣayā adhikā samastyeva, pratyuta aindrāgnādhikaraṇopapāditaprakāreṇa pādhātunaiva lakṣyasya svīkārasyāvayavāvayavisādhāraṇatvāt bhakṣyamāṇāvayavaniṣṭhasyaiva svīkārasya pādhātunā lakṣaṇānna tatpuruṣe svīkṛtāvayavalakṣaṇāntarāpattidoṣa ityāśaṅkya pariharati -------- yadyapi ceti //
yadyapi pādhātunā svīkāralakṣaṇā tulyā; tathāpi atrāvayavagatasvīkārabodhanamavayavigatasvīkāropasthitisāpekṣami ti vilambopasthitisāpekṣam, naivaṃ bahuvrīhau sarvasyāvayavina eva svīkārādato 'tulyatvamityarthaḥ /
vyadhikaraṇabahuvrīherananuśiṣṭatvāśaṅkāṃ kaṇṭhekāla ityādivat "saptamīviśeṣaṇe bahuvrīhāvi"tyanena vyadhikaraṇabahuvrīhisaṃbhavāt prācīnaiḥ parihṛtāmapi saptamībahuvrīhiviṣaya eva tasya jñāpakatāṅgīkārādanyatrāpravṛtteḥ tatrāparituṣya prakārāntareṇa samānādhikaraṇabahuvrīhyāśrayaṇena pariharati ----- ataśceti //
prathamataḥ pītapratibaddhavatsāmityatreva pītapadaṃ bhāve niṣṭhāntaṃ pānavācakamaṅgīkṛtya pītamasyāstītyarthe arśāādyacaṃ kṛtvā indraḥ pānavān yasmin savane ityevaṃ samānādhikaraṇabahuvrīhirevetyarthaḥ /
evañcāpūrvasaṃyogādabhyāsānāṃ prakaraṇāviśeṣāt sarvatra pradhānabhūtabhakṣayāmipadasāmarthyācca sarvapradānāṅgatvena prāptasya mantrasya guṇabhūtendrapītapadāśaktyā saṃkoco na yuktastasyāpi savanaviṣayatvena śaktyupapādanānna saṃkocakatā yukteti sarvapradānāṅgatvanirṇaya ityāha -------- prakaraṇāviśeṣāditi //
svaraviśeṣeṇa bahuvrīhitvanirṇayaḥ prācīnairukto 'pi svarasya tatpuruṣe 'pi pūrvapakṣe upapāditatvāt upekṣitaḥ /
ataśca "vasumadgaṇasya gāyatrachandasa indrapītasye" tyāditrikatrayaṃ prātaḥsavanādiviśeṣaṇam, tacca somasyasaca avayavadvārā bhakṣaṇasyetyevaṃ viśeṣaṇayuktasya savanasya saṃbandhī yaḥ somaḥ tasyāvayavaṃ bhakṣayāmītyarthāt mantraliṅgasya sarvapradānaśeṣabhakṣaṇaprakāśane 'pyaviruddhatvāt sarvabhakṣāṅgatvamityabhipretya ūhapakṣanirāsena saha siddhāntamupasaṃharati ------- ata iti //
yeṣāntu tattatsavanaviśeṣaṇatayopāttānāṃ padānāṃ liṅgaṃ tattatsavane virudhyate, teṣāntu sāmarthyādeva sūktavākamantragatapadānāmiva vibhajya viniyoge 'pyavaśiṣṭāviruddhamantragatapadānāmavirodhe sati tattatsavanasaṃbandhisarvabhakṣāṅgatvamevetyarthaḥ //
evaṃ samānādhikaraṇabahuvrīhiṇopapāditasiddhāntopasaṃhāre kṛte punaḥ siṃhāvalokananyāyena tatra dūṣaṇamupanyasya tatparihāreṇa siddhāntamupapādayati -------- yadi tviti //
pītapratibaddhavatsāmitivadupasarjanaṃ pūrvamityanuśiṣṭasya pūrvanipātasyāpattau pītendretiprayogāpattirityarthaḥ /
jñāpakasya saptamībahuvrīhiviṣayatvamabhipretya prācīnoktatṛtīyāvyadhikaraṇabahuvrīhyanaṅgīkāreṇāpi vyadhikaraṇasaptamībahuvrīhyaṅgīkāreṇa pariharati -------- tadāstviti //
niṣṭhāntatveneti //
niṣṭheti sūtreṇa kṛtakṛtyaḥ pītodakaḥ ityādiṣviva niṣṭhāntasya pūrvanipātāpattirastyevetyarthaḥ /
agatikagatyā samādhatte -------- tadeti //
agatikatvenaivātrāparituṣya niṣkṛṣṭasamādhānena siddhāntayati -------- athaveti //
taittirīyaśākhāyāmiti //
tasyāṃ hi mandrābhibhūtirityārabhya varcasa ityantaṃ paṭhitvā "vasumadgaṇasya somadevate matividaḥ prātaḥsavanasya gāyatrachandasa indrapītasya narāśaṃsapītasya pitṛpītasya madhumata upahatasyopahūto bhakṣayāmi rudravadgaṇasya somadevate mativido mādhyandinasya savanasya triṣṭupchandasa indrapītasya narāśaṃsapītasya pitṛpītasya madhumata upahūtasyopahūto bhakṣayāmyādityavadgaṇasya somadevate matividastṛtīyasya savanasya jagatīchandasa indrapītasya narāśaṃsapītasya pitṛpitasya madhumata upahūtasyopahūto bhakṣayāmi" itimīmāṃsābhāṣyakāralikhitaśākhāntarīyamantrapāṭhavailakṣaṇyena pāṭhaḥ /
tatrendrapītādipadānāṃ trayāṇāṃ somamātraparatve tattaddevatyapradānaśeṣabhakṣaṇe liṅgādeva tantrapadatayā tattatpadānāṃ prāptestrivāraṃ pāṭho 'narthakaḥ prāpnoti, savanaparatvetu savanānāṃ bhedena tattadrūpeṇa tattaddevatāpītasomasaṃbandhisavanasaṃbandhyavayavaprakāśanāya sa pāṭhaḥ sārthaka iti pītapade lakṣaṇāyāḥ somasavanasaṃbandhiparatve 'syāṃ śākhāyāṃ nirṇīte upasaṃhāranyāyena bhāṣyodāhṛtamantre 'pi tathaiva nirṇayo yuktaḥ /
etāvāṃstu viśeṣaḥ ------- vasumadgaṇādipadānāṃ asiddhavibhāgakaraṇapūrvako vyavasthayā tattatsavane viniyogo bhāṣyodāhṛtaḥ /
taittirīyetu yathāsavanaṃ vibhāgasya svata eva siddhatvādyathāliṅgaṃ vyavasthāmātramiti tatpuruṣeṇaivātra siddhānta iti bhāvaḥ //
atraca "sarveṣāṃ vaikamantryamaitiśāyanasya bhaktipānatvāt savanādhikāro hī"ti siddhāntasūtre aitiśāyanagrahaṇādanyarṣeraikamantramiti mataṃ na jaimineḥ, tasyatu yathādevataṃ vā tatprakṛtitvaṃ hi darśayatītyādyapūrvapakṣanirākaraṇāyottarasūtrapratipāditohapakṣa eveti bhramaṃ nirākartumāha -------- kalpasūtreti //
yohyuttarasūtreṇa jaimininā ūhapakṣa uktaḥ, sa kalpasūtrakāramatatvenoktaḥ, paramatatvenokto 'pyaikamantryapakṣaḥ svasiddhānta eva yuktisiddhatvādato mīmāṃsānyāyavirodhe pūrvapakṣamūlatvāt kalpasūtrakāravacanasyānanuṣṭhānalakṣaṇamaprāmāṇyamityarthaḥ /
ataeva --------- atrānte uktaṃ bhāṣyakāreṇa evamaitiśāyana ācāryo manyate sma /
asmākamapyetadeva matam /
ācāryagrahaṇaṃ tasmādāgatamiti saṃkīrtyarthamiti /
prayojanaṃ spaṣṭatvāt noktam //
iti viṃśaṃ ekādaśādhikaraṇopasaṃhārādhikaraṇam //
