piṇḍapitṛyajñavākye dvayoramāvāsyāparāhṇakālayairvidhāne 'pyekasya vyāpyakālasyā- vacchedakatvenaikakālyenāvirodhasyevehāpyupapattirityathraḥ //

(atra pūrvapakṣe prācīnāpāditayajatyabhyāsalakṣaṇānirāsaḥ) atra prācīnaiḥ siddhānte paurṇamāsyamāvāsyayordarśapūrṇamāsānuṣṭhānena jīvanaparyāptakālānugrahāsaṃbhavāt yāgābhyāsavidhānāya yajatāvabhyāsalakṣaṇā pūrvapakṣe āpāditā, tāṃ parihartumāha ---------- jīvanaparyāpteti //
evañca nābhyāsalakṣaṇā natarāñca tasya vidheyatvamityevakāreṇa sūcitam /

ataeva vidheyatāvacchedakatayā jīvanaparyāpteṣu tāvatsu vyāpyaprayogeṣu tattadvidheyatāvacchedakatayā vibhinnadharmāntareṣvapi vyāsaktaikadharmasya svīkārādvyāpyaprayogavyāsaktavyāpakaprayogādeva phalamityāha ---------- svargādīti //
vyāpyavyāpakaprayogaviśiṣṭakarmaṇaḥ phalāpekṣāyāṃ svargakāmādivākyena svargārthatayaiva viniyogāt svargādyeva phalam, natu yāvajjīvavākyena pāpakṣayārthatvena viniyogāt pāpakṣayaḥ pṛthak phalamityarthaḥ /
evañca jīvanaparyāptaistāvadbhiḥ prayogaiḥ ekameva phalaṃ svargādi bhavati, nāntareti bhāvaḥ /
etacca vyāpyaprayogāpekṣayā vyāpakaprayogāntaravidhānaṃ kaustubhoktarītyopapāditam

anyathā paurṇamāsyādikālānāṃ vyāpyavyāpakabhāvena niveśasaṃbhavādavirodhokteranuktisahatvāpatteḥ /

yatratu vartamānāpadeśena tacchravaṇam yathā yāvaddohamityatra tatrānuṣṭhānasyaivābodhanena nānuṣṭhāpakatvarūpatadapekṣayā dhātvarthāntarasaṃbandhaḥ, kintu svāvacchinnakālakatvameva sa iti vaiṣamyam /

tena śrutivṛtte, dohanamatikramya kālo gṛhyate /

paurvāhṇikakālāvacchinnapaurṇamāsyāmeva pratikṣaṇañjīvanabhedamādāyāvṛttyāpādanaṃ tvaśakyatvādeva na saṃbhavatīti bhāvaḥ //
(nimittatvanirvacanam) nimittatvañca nānuṣṭhāpakatvamātrarūpaṃ kāmanādivat, tathātve kāmaśāstreṇaiva tādṛśānuṣṭhānasiddhau etadvacanavaiyarthyāpatteḥ, yāvacchabdānuvādānupapatteśca, ato niyatānuṣṭhāpakatvasyākṣepāttadghaṭitaṃ nimittasvarūpamāha ----------- nimittatvaṃ ceti //
(nimittasamabhivyāhṛtavidherakaraṇe pratyavāyabodhakatvam) niyatatvasyaca buddhipūrvakāriṇā puruṣeṇa svato 'saṃpādyamānatvāt nimittasamabhivyāhṛto vidhiḥ yogyatābalena vidheyākaraṇasya pratyavāyasādhanatāṃ bodhayatītyabhipretyāha ---------- ataśceti //

nyāyasudhākṛtā tu pratyayavācyabhāvanāyā bhāvyasākāṅkṣatvaniyamāt karaṇātphalāṅgīkārepyakaraṇanimittapratyavāyaprāgabhāvaparipālanasya phalatvamityuktam, tadubhayanirāsāyāha --------- karaṇe ceti //
kāmyamānena svargādiphalenāvaśyakatvānirvāhāt viśvajinnyāyena svargaphalakalpanāyogāt phalaviśeṣāpekṣāyāṃ "dharmeṇa pāpamapanudati," "pūrvāṃ sandhyāṃ japan vipro naiśameno vyapohati," "yadrātryā pāpamakārṣaṃ yadahnā pāpamakārṣaṃ manasā vācā hastābhyāṃ" ityādivākyaśeṣebhyo niṣiddhācaraṇajanyapratyavāyakṣayasya phalatvamavasīyate ityarthaḥ /
yadyapi dharmeṇetyasya na kiñcidvākyaśeṣatvam, apitu vākyatvameva; tathāpi ādipadasaṃgṛhītānāṃ pūrvoktānāṃ saṃdhyāvandanavidhivākyaśeṣatvādvākyaśeṣetyuktam /
akaraṇe pratyavāyabhiyā pravṛttasya pāpakṣayārthaṃ pravṛttyabhāvamapekṣya pāpakṣayasyānuṣaṅgikatvoktiḥ /
nyāyasudhākṛnmatanirāsaḥ kaustubhe draṣṭavyaḥ /
nimittalakṣaṇaprasaṅgāt rathantarasāmādhikaraṇoktamevārthaṃ punarviśadayati ------------ yatra tviti //
siddhāntamupasaṃharatiṇae. ------------- ataśceti //
(pūrvottarakalpaprayojananirūpaṇam) prayojanaṃ pūrvapakṣe yāvajjīvamabhyastarūpaka ekaḥ kāmya eva proyagaḥ jīvanakālasya vikṛtau sauryādāvatideśādyāvajjīviko 'bhyāsaḥ, siddhānte tvaphalakāmasyāpi sāyaṃprātaḥkālayorabhyastarūpastatraivaca parisamāpta ekaḥ prayogaḥ /

ato yatrobhayatra rūpalābhenotpattividhibhedasaṃbhavaḥ, tatraiva bhedaśaṅkotthānāt teṣāmevodāharaṇatvamityarthaḥ /

(saṃjñāśabdāntasaṅkhyānāmabhedakatvepi abhyāsaguṇādeḥ bhedakatvasaṃbhavena pūrvapakṣaḥ) yadapi kāṭhakaṃ kālāpakamityādisaṃjñāyāḥ karmabhedakatvaṃ sūtrakāreṇoktam /
tatra tasyā granthaparatvena karmaparatvābhāvāt, vede 'nāmnānenotpattigatatvābhāvācca na bhedakatvasaṃbhavaḥ, sūtre tadupapādanantvabhyuccayamātreṇa jñeyam /
tathā śabdāntarasyāpi samānadhātvarthakatvāt itaradhātvarthāpekṣayā bhedakatvasya siddhānte 'pīṣṭatvānnabhedakatvam /
tathā saṅkhyāyāḥ svasamavāyibhedakatvāccāsaṃbhavaḥ, evaṃ saṃjñāśabdāntarasaṅkhyānāmasaṃbhave 'pyananyaparavidhipunaḥśravaṇarūpābhyāsasya aindrāgnaikādaśakapālatvādiguṇāvarodhe vacanāntarāmnātadvādaśakapālatvādiguṇāntarasya niveśāyogāt guṇasya dūrasthatvenāsannidherupādeya- guṇasāmānyābhāvācca prakaraṇāntarasyaca bhedakatvasaṃbhavābhiprāyeṇa bhedakapramāṇeṣviti bahuvacanopādānaṃ kṛtam /
tadevopapādayati --------- bhedakapramāṇairhīti //
(svādhyāyasyādhyayanavidhyuddeśyatvepi kalpyavidhāvupādeyatvātsvīyatvaikatvayorvivakṣaṇam) adhvaryuṃ vṛṇīta itivaditi //
anenaca ----------
svādhyāyasyādhyayanaṃ pratyuddeśyatvāduddeśyasvādhyāyagataikatvāvivakṣāśaṅkāyāḥ yathaivādhvaryuṃ vṛṇīte ityatra satyapyadhvaryoruddeśyatve vṛtenādhvaryuṇā svakāryaṃ kuryāditi kalpyavidhāvupādeyatayā śravaṇādekatvavivakṣā, tathehāpyadhītena svādhyāyenārthajñānaṃ bhāvayediti kalpyaviniyogavidhau upādeyatvaśravaṇāt tadvivakṣeti nirāsaḥ sūcitaḥ /
svairadhīyate 'sau svādhyāya iti vyutpattyādhyāyagatasvaparaṃparāgatapuruṣaparigraharūpasvīyatvokteḥ svīyatvetyuktam //
(svādhyāya ityadhyāyasya vedatvavyāpyaśākhāparatvavyavasthāpanam //)//
"anayā trayyā vidyayā lokaṃ jayati" "vedānadhītya vedau vā vedaṃ vāpi yathākrama" mityādiśrutismṛtibhirvedāntaragataśākhādhyayanasyābhyanujñānāt tadanurodhenādhyāyapadamapi ṛgvedatvādivyāpyaśākhā- parameva; tatraivaca svīyatvaikatvayorviśeṣaṇatvāt /
ṛgvedatvādivyāpyāyā ekaikapitryādiparamparāgatāyāḥ śākhāyā adhyayananiyamakaraṇena tadvyāpyaśākhāntarasyaivādhyayanavidhāne 'pi na vedāntaragatāyāstannivṛttirityabhipretya samādhatte

(vedabhede karmabhedaḥ na śākhābheda ityupapādanam) puruṣābhedāditi //
vedabhedena tadadhyayanasya sarvapuruṣān pratyavirodhāt tadgatavidhipunaḥ śravaṇasyādhyetṛbhedapuraskāreṇa jñānārthatvena parihārāsaṃbhavāt ubhayotpattau prāptāyāṃ bhūyodharmāmnānaṃ yatra tatrotpattiritaratra guṇārthaṃ śravaṇamityarthabhūyastvaṃ niyāmakaṃ tṛtīye vakṣyata ityarthaḥ /
evaṃ yatra sāmavede ekasyāmeva śākhāyāṃ pañcaviṃśaṣaṅviṃśākhyabrāhmaṇabhedastatrāpyadhyetṛbhedābhāvādekatra vidhiraparatrānuvādo bādhakāsattve, tadabhāvetu karmāntaramevābhyāsādityapi jñeyam /

tattadadhyetṝn prati ajñātotpattijñāpakatayā vidhipunaḥśravaṇopapatterna karmabheda ityarthaḥ //
evaṃ vidhipunaḥ śravaṇasyānyaparatvādabhyāsasya bhedakatve niraste tenaivānupasthitirūpaprakaraṇāntarasya pramātṛbhedenotpattyākṣepakatve 'pi bhedākṣepakatvābhāvāt bhedakatvāsiddhimabhipretyāvaśiṣṭaṃ guṇakṛtabhedaṃ nirasitumāha

yato 'dhyetṛbhedena dvayorapyutpattiparatvāt naikatarasyotpattiśiṣṭatvamutpannaśiṣṭatvaṃ vā, ata eva ekatareṇaikatarasya bādhāyogādekārthatve sati vrīhiyavayoriva vikalpa ityarthaḥ /
kāṭhakādisamākhyānāṃ śākhāsviva karmaṇyapi prayogāt tābhirādhvaryavādisamākhyāvat puruṣaviśeṣaniyamopapattyāśaṅkāmabhipretya pariharati

karmaṇi prayogasya kaṭhaproktagranthavihitasaṃbandhanimittakasya kartṛtāsaṃbandhena kaṭhādiniyāmakatvāyogāt na tena vyavasthāsiddhirityarthaḥ //
(śākhāntarīyāṅgānuṣṭhānopāyanirūpaṇam) nanu --------- śākhāntarīyāṅgānāṃ pradhānānāṃ vādhyayanavidhisiddhajñānābhāvāt kathamanuṣṭhānopapattirityāśaṅkāṃ kratuvidhīnāṃ svakartṛśākhārthaviṣaye 'dhyayanavidhisiddhajñānalābhena tadupāyānākṣepakatve 'pi śākhāntaravṛttisvānuṣṭheyārthaviṣaye tadvidhisiddhajñānābhāve sati tadupāyākṣepakatvopapatteḥ kalpasūtrādhyayanena tajjñānasaṃbhavenānuṣṭhānopapattyā nirasyati -------- śākhāntarīyeti //
(kratuvidhīnāṃ śūdrādhikārākṣepakatvanirāsaḥ) śūdrasya tadākṣepasaṃbhave 'pi tadupāyādhyayananiṣedhānna taditi vaiṣamyamiti bhāvaḥ //
(bahvalpaṃ vetivacanavirodhaparihāraḥ) nanu -------- śākhāntarīyāṅgopasaṃhāre "bahvalpaṃ vā svagṛhyoktaṃ yasya yāvat prakīrttitaṃ /
tasya tāvati śāstrārthe kṛte sarvaḥ kṛto bhave" diti vacanena svagṛhyapadasyopalakṣaṇatayā svagṛhyoktasya svaśākhāvagatasya
vānuṣṭhānaniyamavidhānāt tena virodha ityāśaṅkānirāsāyāha ---------- yattviti //
(pūrvottarapakṣaprayojananirūpaṇam) prayojanaṃ śākhāntaragatāṅgānāṃ na vikalpasamuccayau pūrvapakṣe /
siddhānte tāviti pūrvamevoktaprāyatvānnoktam

uttarādhyāyārthasaṃgrahaśca) eteṣāñca pramāṇānāmekaviṣayopanipāte 'nadhigatārthagantṛtvatadabhāvarūpaprāmāṇyāprāmāṇyaviśeṣe 'pi virodhābhāvānna balābalānveṣaṇaṃ kāryamityabhipretya tadavaśiṣṭasya vicāraṇīyasyābhāvāt adhyāyārthamupasaṃharati --------- tadevamiti //
śrotṝṇāmaudāsīnyavāraṇena sukhagrahaṇārthamuttarādhyāyārthaṃ saṃgṛhṇāti -------- ataḥparamiti //
teṣāmiti bahuvacanena ataḥ paramityanenaca sūcitottarādhyāyārthanirūpaṇaṃ pratyetadadhyāyārthanirūpaṇasya hetuhetumadbhāvarūpā saṅgatiruttaratra spaṣṭībhaviṣyati //

iti kavimaṇḍana-khaṇḍadevaśiṣya-śuṃbhubhaṭṭaviracitāyāṃ bhāṭṭadīpikāvyākhyāyāṃ prabhāvalyāṃ dvitīyādhyāyasya caturthaḥ pādaḥ //
atra dvitīyādhyāyassamāptaḥ //
